Social Security update 2026: The SSA is making a big change starting in July for America’s 250th anniversary. What it means for citizens
Newborns born between July 2 and December 31, 2026, will receive limited-edition Social Security cards featuring the Freedom 250 logo in black ink to commemorate America's 250th anniversary. These commemorative cards function identically to standard cards and are issued through the existing Enumeration at Birth program that has operated since 1987.
