Microsoft to cut 4,800 jobs in major Xbox and gaming division ‘reset’
Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs, representing 2.1% of its global workforce, with 1,600 coming from Xbox and another 1,600 planned later this year. Xbox operates at margins 3-10x lower than comparable businesses and faces a hardware crisis as component costs rise, prompting the division reset.
