Kazakhstan releases first tiger into the wild in 70 years
Kazakhstan released an adult female Amur tiger named Umit into the wild on July 31, 2026, marking the first tiger release in more than 70 years. The tiger was transported to the release site on the back of a pickup truck before being freed from her cage.
