Former Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland had early stage CTE when he died at 24
A 24-year-old former Dallas Cowboys defensive end who died by suicide in November 2025 was found to have early stage CTE, a brain disease linked to repeated concussions. The Boston University CTE Center determined through brain tissue analysis that he was in stage one of four CTE stages.
